Buying a local SIM in SVG is cheap, and unusually for a small Caribbean state you can do it on the islands you are actually staying on, not only in the capital. Digicel, the larger of the two operators, lists retail points in Kingstown, at Fountain on the Vigie Highway, on Bequia, in Retreat Village on Canouan and in Clifton on Union Island. Its prepaid range, branded Prime Ultra in 2026, runs from EC$5.50 for 4 GB over a day to EC$59.90 for 22 GB over two weeks. With the East Caribbean dollar pegged at 2.70 to the US dollar, the seven-day plan works out at about 11.80 US dollars for 16 GB, which no travel eSIM for this country gets near. Flow, the other operator, sells too, but its 2026 price list would not load for us, so the verified numbers on this page are Digicel's.
The catch is timing. Every Digicel shop keeps weekday hours with short Saturdays and no Sunday opening, and the ones in the Grenadines close at 1pm on Saturday. The SVG eSIM guide sets out what the three travel eSIMs charge for the days before you reach a counter.

Digicel Prime Ultra: The 2026 Price Sheet
Digicel SVG groups its prepaid bundles under the Prime Ultra name. Each plan combines an any-use data allowance with endless calls to other Digicel numbers, endless social messaging and a set number of minutes to Flow and landlines. These are the prices on Digicel's own St Vincent site on 21 September 2026, tax included.

The seven-day plan is the sweet spot for most visitors. It gives twice the data of the three-day plan for a little over twice the price, and at 16 GB it is more than a week of maps, messaging and photo backups will use. The fourteen-day plan is the one to buy for a fortnight, since it adds only 6 GB on top of the seven-day allowance but also unlocks unlimited calls to Flow numbers, handy when the water taxi driver or the guesthouse is on the other network.
The thirty-day plan is priced for residents. It costs twice the fourteen-day plan for only 3 GB more of general data, and it renews automatically at EC$107.90. Two fourteen-day plans back to back come to EC$119.80, the same money, and give 44 GB between them. Whichever you choose, dial *120# for the balance, or install the MyDigicel app to watch the allowance and renew without another shop visit.
Paying in EC dollars
US dollars are accepted at most counters in SVG, but change comes back in EC dollars and the rate used is not always the full 2.70. The Bank of SVG branch and its 24-hour ATM in the Argyle arrivals hall are the simplest way to hold local cash before you reach a shop, and they make it easy to pay the exact figure on the sheet above.
Flow: Same Towers as Nomad, Prices Unconfirmed
Flow is the incumbent, the operator that traded as LIME until 2015, and it is generally reported to hold about a third of the Vincentian market. Two of the three travel eSIMs sold for SVG use its network, Nomad and Holafly. So if you want Flow for data, you can already have it without visiting a shop.
We could not verify Flow's current prepaid prices. Its St Vincent site loads plan details in the browser and returned nothing we could read, and we would rather leave the gap than print a stale figure as current. The last price list published by a widely used prepaid SIM reference showed Flow's Always On combos, each bundling data with local minutes, texts and unlimited social messaging. Treat these as a guide to shape rather than a quote.

Even on those older numbers, Flow gives far less data than Digicel's 2026 sheet for the same money: 3 GB for a week at EC$24 against 16 GB for EC$31.90. The same reference put Flow's SIM at about EC$10 with a little credit loaded, and says a passport is needed at purchase. Flow's store in Kingstown is on Halifax Street, according to recent visitor guides.
When Flow is still worth it
Flow has promoted a Travel Pass feature that lets a prepaid bundle bought in one Flow market work in others, including St Lucia, Grenada and Dominica. We could not load the 2026 terms, so ask at the counter. If it still applies, a Flow card could suit a sailing route that crosses from SVG into Grenadian waters at Carriacou.
Digicel Shops From Kingstown to Clifton
Digicel's own store locator lists five places to buy, and three are south of the main island. That matters more than it sounds. If you fly straight on to Canouan or take the ferry to Union Island, you can pick up a card where you are staying rather than detouring into Kingstown between plane and boat.

Nothing on that list opens on a Sunday. Mustique and Mayreau have no Digicel shop at all, and neither do the Tobago Cays, which are uninhabited, so crews heading straight for a mooring should buy before leaving Clifton. Top-up vouchers are sold much more widely than new SIM cards, in supermarkets such as Massy Stores and small shops across the islands, and the online top-up portal takes foreign cards.
Is there a kiosk at Argyle?
One recent visitor guide describes Flow and Digicel kiosks in the Argyle arrivals hall with erratic evening hours. Digicel's own store locator does not list an airport location, and the airport's FAQ page mentions the bank, ATM and car hire in arrivals but no phone counter. We could not settle it. Plan on the shops above, and treat an open kiosk at Argyle as a bonus.
What to Bring to the Counter
Prepaid lines in SVG are registered at the point of sale, and for a visitor that means a passport. The process is quick in practice, usually a few minutes, but a missing item sends you back to your room or, on the smaller islands, to the next day.
The passport, not a photocopy
Staff record the details from the photo page. A driver's licence from home is unlikely to be accepted for a visitor, and a phone photo of the passport may not be either.
A phone that is not carrier-locked
A handset locked to a network at home will reject a Vincentian SIM, and nobody at The Cell or in Clifton can unlock it. If your phone has no physical SIM tray at all, you will need an eSIM rather than a card.
The plan name, said out loud
Ask for the 7 Day Prime Ultra or the 14 Day Prime Ultra by name. Credit without a plan leaves you on Digicel's out-of-bundle data rate, which a prepaid reference lists at EC$1 per megabyte, enough to burn through a top-up in minutes.
A test before you leave
Load a map and send a message while you are still at the counter. On Bequia, Canouan or Union Island the next working day may be two days away if you buy on a Saturday.
Prime Ultra or a Travel eSIM: The Dollar Gap
Converted at the fixed 2.70 rate, the gap looks like this. Local figures are plan prices only; add the SIM itself, reported at around EC$15 for Digicel, if you do not already have one.

On money alone the local card wins every row. The seven-day Digicel plan gives three times the data of Nomad's 5 GB eSIM for well under two thirds of the price, and Airalo's Digicel eSIM costs nearly three times as much as buying Digicel directly for a third of the allowance.
The eSIM case in SVG is about when and where you land. Any flight from Barbados or North America that lands at Argyle late in the afternoon reaches town after The Cell has shut. A Saturday arrival that heads straight to the Bequia ferry misses The Cell by the time the boat docks, and Bequia Tech is shut by 1pm. A charter that boards in Blue Lagoon the same afternoon may not see a counter for days. For five nights or fewer, the saving from a Digicel card is around ten dollars and costs you a shop visit. From a week upward, buy the local plan on your first weekday, and use a small eSIM only to cover the gap.
Crossing Into Grenada at Carriacou
The Grenadines chain has a border through it. Union Island and Petit St Vincent are Vincentian; Carriacou and Petite Martinique, a short sail south, belong to Grenada. Many charters and island-hopping trips cross that line, and a Vincentian SIM starts roaming the moment it does.
Digicel SVG sells Caribbean roaming plans for exactly this, activated by dialling *153# or in the MyDigicel app. They work only on Digicel networks in other territories, and Grenada is one.

For a few days in Carriacou, adding the three-day plan to a card you already hold costs less than buying a fresh Grenadian SIM in Hillsborough, and you keep the same number your boat captain already has.

It is designed for residents paying monthly. At EC$119.90 it costs exactly twice the 14 Day plan but adds only 3 GB of general data, 25 GB against 22, though it does include 15 GB for TikTok and YouTube and 300 international minutes. For a month-long stay, two 14 Day plans cost EC$119.80 and deliver 44 GB, so buy those instead.
Does Flow have anything better than Digicel for a visitor?
Not that we could verify. Flow's 2026 price list would not load, and its last published combos gave 3 GB for a week at EC$24, much less than Digicel's 16 GB for EC$31.90. The one reason to consider Flow is its Travel Pass, promoted as letting a bundle work in other Flow markets such as Grenada, but ask in store because we could not confirm current terms.
My flight reaches Argyle late on a Sunday. Where do I get data?
Arrive with an eSIM already installed. No Digicel shop on its published list opens on Sunday, the airport kiosk reports are unconfirmed, and The Cell in Kingstown reopens at 8am on Monday. The airport's free AIA public WIFI network covers most of the terminal apart from the customs hall, which is enough to activate a plan you bought at home. A Nomad 1 GB seven-day plan at 8 dollars covers the gap until you reach a counter.
